A simple and clear presentation of business data plays an increasingly important role in most companies. With the TARGIT Decision Suite, TARGIT offers the right analysis tool for evaluating and interpreting this data. But presenting this data as clearly and logically as possible in a dashboard is often considered a challenge.
TARGIT has once again organised a competition on this very topic. Our colleagues and BI experts Marlene Bergmann, Alaa Ballan and Harry Löwen took part in this TARGIT competition together. The task was:
Our colleagues successfully took on this challenge and were able to complete the competition as one of the selected winning teams.
Especially the use of the new functionalities of TARGIT Decision Suite 2021 should be considered to show the great potential of the latest version. Our team decided to create a dashboard for an AirBnB New York City trip using a heat map.
Here, longitude and latitude lines are used and mapped with a map in SVG format. The dashboard shows the map of New York and allows you to search for suitable accommodation. For this purpose, filtering by room type, price category and district is available. After filtering, you can move the mouse over the individual points in the map and get more information about the accommodation (reviews, minimum nights, name of the hosts, etc.).
The chosen way of filtering data was a new application even for the jury and was an absolute positive surprise. The layout and the possibility to offer the dashboard as a product were also fully convincing in the end. We are proud that in the end they were among the winners who were awarded a trophy. We sincerely congratulate them on this success and are pleased with our team about this award.
