DHL Kleinpaket replaces Warenpost
From 1 January 2025, DHL will introduce the "DHL Kleinpaket" as a new shipping option for business customers, replacing the previous "Warenpost". With this change, the maximum dimensions for shipments will be extended to 25 cm x 35.3 cm x 8 cm, making it possible to send larger items. Previously, the height of parcels was limited to 5 cm, which led to restrictions. In addition, a liability of up to 20 euros per consignment will be introduced, which applies in the event of loss - in contrast to the previous Warenpost, which offered no liability. This shipping solution is specially designed for business customers with an annual shipping volume of at least 200 items. The average delivery time is estimated at two working days.
Mandatory labelling for parcels from January 2025
According to the new Postal Act, from 1 January 2025, parcels in the weight categories over 10 kg to 20 kg and over 20 kg must clearly and comprehensibly indicate the higher weight. This labelling requirement applies to both business and private customers and affects all parcels that are handed in at post offices, packing stations or to delivery staff.
