December 2024 Release Notes: Improvements in M-Files Online

The M-Files document management system offers companies an innovative solution for the efficient management and organisation of documents and information. With a centralised platform, M-Files enables smooth management of workflows and documents, supports collaboration and ensures fast, location-independent access.

The release  in december 2024 brings numerous optimisations that make M-Files even more powerful and user-friendly:

Improvements:

  • Timeout settings for new Cloud Vaults: The registry settings for timeout handling have been moved to the M-Files Admin Console, making it easier to configure search timeouts.
  • Recently accessed items: Users can now see recently accessed objects in the Recent tab in M-Files Web.
  • Creation and management of views: In M-Files Web and the new desktop, users can create and manage views more easily, with options to filter by object type or property.
  • Enhancements for read-only licenses: Users with read-only licenses can now create and manage links.
  • Print and download protection: When enabled, read-only users can preview files but cannot download or print them.

Bug fixes:

  • Login problems with a large number of views: Users can now sign in to M-Files even if the Vault contains a very large number of views.
  • Document editing with Teams add-in: Fixed issues when editing documents with the Teams add-in in Microsoft Edge or Google Chrome.
  • Metadata display in M-Files Web: Correction of the display of object metadata when using status transitions during object creation.
  • Error message when installing the Compliance Kit: Fixed an error message when installing or updating the Compliance Kit.
  • Column sorting in M-Files Web: Fixed issues with sorting columns in views.
  • Visibility of pinned objects: Fix issue where objects remained visible in the “Pinned” tab even after permissions were changed.
  • Storage problems with metadata: Resolved issues with saving metadata when properties are edited simultaneously in M-Files Desktop and M-Files Web.
