In the current release (KatarGo 18.2), many functions have been further improved, including the creation of a supplementary check of foreign VAT identification numbers and address data in addition to the VAT identification number check of the Business Central Standard.
The procedure for confirming foreign VAT identification numbers makes it easier for German traders to check whether, at the time the service is provided, the supply or other service is made to a trader registered in another EU Member State. In the standard version of Business Central it is already possible to obtain a simple confirmation of the validity of the foreign VAT registration number of your business partner. A simple confirmation provides information on whether a foreign VAT number is valid in the Member State that issued it at the time of the request.
In the current KatarGo release, this simple check has been supplemented by the qualified confirmation. In the case of a qualified confirmation, you can also query whether the details you have provided, such as company name (including legal form), company location, postcode and street, match the data registered in the business register of the respective EU member state. In that case, the enquiries will be directed to the Federal Central Tax Office.
