At BUILD'23, Microsoft unveiled the IP Firewall Public Preview for Dataverse, a new feature that provides more control over access to the data that resides there. The preview of the IP Firewall is now available to all customers in all regions worldwide.
The IP Firewall allows access controls for Power Platform environments to be customized as needed to enhance enterprise security and provide a seamless experience for users. IP Firewall can be used to specify which IP ranges can access the Dataverse API, allowing access to data only from allowed IP ranges. This helps reduce the risk of data theft by insiders and prevent token replay attacks from restricted IP ranges.
IP restrictions in Power Platform environments can be enabled by Power Platform environment administrators. This feature is available only in managed environments and can be enabled individually through the Power Platform Admin Center; by default, this feature is disabled.
