New DMS DropForm for the DMS Connector

In October 2026, we will introduce a new DMS DropForm for customers using our DMS Connector to connect their ERP solution Business Central with the document management platforms M-Files or SharePoint. This update modernizes the user interface while creating the technical foundation for future enhancements. At the same time, the familiar workflows remain unchanged.

For users, this means there is no need to adapt daily processes, while benefiting from significantly improved search, filtering, and document display capabilities.

What stays the same?

One of the most common questions can be answered right away: your existing workflows will not change.

All familiar functions remain available, and existing standard groupings will be automatically transferred. No additional configuration is required for standard use cases.

What improves?

The new DropForm offers numerous enhancements for working with documents and information:

  • Enhanced search functionality
  • More powerful filtering options
  • Improved sorting of documents and records
  • Freely configurable groupings
  • Additional grouping levels
  • Display of key metadata directly in the overview
  • More information visible at a glance
  • Better organization of large document volumes

Especially when working with extensive document repositories, information can be found and evaluated faster than before.

Key information directly in the overview

One of the most significant enhancements is the ability to display additional metadata fields directly within the DropForm.

This allows users to view important information directly from the document overview without opening the document card. The result is fewer clicks and a more efficient user experience. Administrators can individually define which information should be displayed.

Additional grouping levels can now be configured to organize documents even more effectively.

Existing standard groupings remain available. If required, administrators can create additional customized groupings for different business scenarios.

Integrated document preview

With the rollout, the document preview will also be integrated directly into the document card.

Users can view document content and metadata simultaneously without first downloading the document or opening it in a separate application.

Benefits:

  • Faster review of document content
  • Document and metadata visible at the same time
  • Less switching between different views
  • More efficient document research

Preview during upload

A document preview will also be available when creating new document records.

The document content is displayed alongside the metadata card, making it easier to capture information and verify documents during the upload process.

Benefits:

  • Easier metadata capture
  • Quick verification of the selected document
  • Reduced media disruption
  • Support for manual indexing and classification

Multilingual and at no additional cost

The new DropForm will be available in both German and English. No additional costs will be incurred for its use.

When will the migration take place?

The rollout will begin gradually on October 19, 2026. All affected customers will be informed in advance and will receive updated documentation covering the new features and configuration options.
