New year, new updates for M-Files

M-Files, a leading provider of intelligent information management solutions, has recently released a series of updates to its online platform. These updates, released during January 2024, not only bring new features but also fix some important defects to improve the performance and reliability of the platform.

New functions:

  1. Bulk upload of links in M-Files Desktop: Users can now select multiple items and create links to them simultaneously to increase efficiency in M-Files Desktop.
  2. Instant indexing for large objects and objects with many files: Objects larger than 1 MB or containing more than 800 files are now indexed as soon as they are created. This improves efficiency when working with large amounts of data.
  3. Notifications for @mentions: Users now receive notifications (via email and push notification) when a new comment contains a reference to a Vault user (@mention).
  4. Improvements in error detection for file system access: Clear distinction between different error conditions makes it easier for third-party providers to detect and handle errors.
  5. New visual appearance for M-Files Desktop and M-Files Web clients: The user interface of M-Files Desktop and M-Files Web has been completely redesigned to harmonize functionality and aesthetics.

We would like to explain point 5 in more detail as a special highlight: The new UI was developed to maximize user-friendliness, increase efficiency and at the same time offer a modern, appealing design.

The highlights of the M-Files UI January 2024 release:

  1. Fresh and intuitive design: The revised design brings freshness to the user experience. Clear lines, modern icons and an intuitive arrangement of elements ensure an appealing appearance and easier navigation.
  2. Optimized user-friendliness: The improvements focus on optimizing workflows. By simplifying functions and highlighting frequently used elements, user-friendliness is taken to a new level.
  3. Customizable workspaces: A highlight is the ability for users to customize their workspaces. This enables personalized use of the platform and increases efficiency by focusing on the most important tasks.
  4. Improved performance: The January 2024 release of M-Files UI not only brings an aesthetic improvement, but also increased performance. Faster loading times and smoother workflows help users to work more productively.
  5. Collaboration made easy: Improved collaboration features allow teams to work together seamlessly. New tools and functions promote the exchange of information and facilitate collaboration on joint projects.
