The M-Files document management system offers companies an innovative solution for the efficient management and organisation of documents and information. With a centralised platform, M-Files enables smooth management of workflows and documents, supports collaboration and ensures fast, location-independent access.
The October 2024 release brings numerous optimisations that make M-Files even more powerful and user-friendly:
New client experience for M-Files Desktop:
A completely new client experience for M-Files Desktop is available for Vaults with gRPC connection. Users can safely switch between the classic and the new user experience by using a toggle setting displayed at the top of M-Files Desktop.
Application accounts can be created and edited in M-Files Admin-ID Admin-ID:
M-Files system administrators can now create and edit application accounts in M-Files Admin. Application accounts are intended to be used by software applications, services and automated tools to interact with each other without human intervention. Each application account must have a dedicated named user licence.
New banner and dialogue box about M-Files Web in the classic M-Files Web:
The classic M-Files Web now has an updated banner and a new information dialogue to encourage users to try out M-Files Web. Administrators can control the visibility of these new user interface elements in the advanced Vault settings.
Improved support for auto-fill of properties, pre-filling and filter-based filling in M-Files Web:
Auto-filling of properties, pre-filling of properties and filter-based filling of properties on the metadata form now have improved support in M-Files Web. This way, these events can be chained and users can edit metadata more effortlessly.
Improved support of line breaks for multi-line text properties in view exports:
The classic M-Files Desktop can now export views so that values of multi-line text properties with line breaks are displayed correctly in Microsoft Excel. To ensure that the values are displayed as intended, enable the option "Include delimiter metadata for Microsoft Excel" in the advanced Vault settings > Client > Classic Desktop > List > Export.
