With the DMS Connector for SharePoint, documents such as invoices, quotations or delivery bills can be easily transferred from their ERP system Business Central to SharePoint. With the new release, processes have been simplified and work has become even more attractive.
For each Business Central table, "Search URLs" can be configured in the DMS document type. Parts of this URL can be replaced by placeholders and dynamically exchanged by fields of the Business Central table.
Metadata can now be entered even faster, as the metadata fields are automatically filled by auto-completion. By entering "R", for example, the line is filled with "Invoice".
Documents deposited to records are dynamically uploaded to libraries. For example, there is a separate library for each vendor. Documents of the respective creditor are automatically added to the library.
Documents can now be displayed in Business Central based on parameters such as document type or document class. The result is a clearer and more configurable folder structure.
Until now, only documents from SharePoint could be opened directly from Business Central. Now it is possible to jump directly to the parent SharePoint folder or folder.
Documents are stored in different SharePoint folders based on their metadata. If a metadate is changed on the document, the document is now automatically moved to the corresponding SharePoint folder.
By selecting a lookup, further dependent metadata is automatically filled. For example, if you select a customer in a lookup, additional metadata is automatically created for this customer.
