What is Microsoft Dynamics NAV?

Microsoft Dynamics NAV (formerly known as Navision, now Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central) is the leading ERP software for medium-sized companies. Navision, NAV for short, was originally developed by a Danish company, Navision Software A/S. In 2002 Microsoft took over the Danish manufacturer Navision Software A/S. The integration of Navision into the Microsoft Business Solutions division resulted in the ERP solution Microsoft Dynamics NAV.

The business software was designed for medium-sized companies and is characterized by performance, transparency, flexibility and ease of use.

The functions include the following:

  • Warehouse and logistics
  • supply chain management
  • Analysis and evaluation

The NAV successor Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central is an all-in-one business solution that can be operated on local servers or in data centers (on-premises) and is also provided directly by Microsoft as Software-as-a-Service (SaaS).

      The successor of Microsoft Dynamics NAV is called Dynamics 365 Business Central
