PPS stands for Production Planning and Control System and describes software programs that support companies especially in production planning and production control. The goal of a PPS system is transparency in the production process and the realization of short throughput times, optimal stock levels and the economic use of operating resources.
The ERP solution Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central / NAV, contains an integrated production module that enables the mapping of relevant functions for production companies. In Dynamics 365 Business Central / NAV, individual production, series production and process production can be mapped. For this purpose, production items with single or multilevel production BOMs and routings are created and production orders with components and capacity planning are created via a planning run.
