Structured Query Language, SQL for short, is a common database language in information technology. With the help of the database language, it is possible to define data structures in relational databases and to edit, insert, change, delete and query data sets based on them. The language was developed by IBM within the framework of a research project and was internationally standardized in 1987. Almost all database systems work with this language.
