Successful migration

At the beginning of 2019, TSO-DATA migrates a long-term existing customer with a 3 terabyte Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central / NAV database from a German data center to the Azure Cloud. Due to the daily transaction volume and the database size, the requirement was to implement the actual migration as quickly as possible. A goal that could be achieved in less than 48 hours. The connection of further national branch stores including integrated POS software based on Microsoft Dynamics NAV was also flawless.

Due to the structured approach, the detailed project planning and the smooth implementation, the project could be completed just 6 weeks after the starting signal.

Working in the Cloud

Currently the Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central / NAV environment of the TSO-DATA customer is provided as "SQL on Azure" preconfigured virtual machine. As part of a future update of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central / NAV, this will be replaced by the PaaS service "Azure SQL".

The Azure complete package completes the Managed Services of TSO-DATA. For example, Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central / NAV services are checked daily and the server operating systems are kept up-to-date by patch management. On top of that, the utilization of hardware resources is continuously monitored so that an early response can be made if necessary.
