Do you want to have transparent and clear access to your company data - whether in your office or on the road? Then Microsoft Power BI is the right entry point for your business intelligence from the Microsoft Cloud. New features and previews have been made available for the September update of Microsoft's business intelligence solution Power BI. We would like to present a few selected ones to you here.
New formatting options for buttons
Buttons in Power BI have been updated to offer even more formatting options, including new shapes and custom icons. Previously, buttons were only available as rectangles. After the update, the following shapes are now available for selection:
The standard shape for buttons is still the "rectangle". This can be changed via the shape properties, under the item "Shape":
In addition to new shapes for buttons, this version also includes new formatting options, such as custom images and icons for the buttons:
Many formatting options are available for this, such as: "Adjust image", "Symbol placement" as well as many more.
Labels for line chart series
A new option has also been added for creating and formatting row labels in line charts. Row labels in the formatting area allow users to enable and format labels to be displayed on the left or right side of their row categories in line charts.
Insights
The Insights function helps users find and analyse anomalies, trends and KPI analyses while working or interacting with reports. Users are proactively notified of available insights, with explanations. Insights are available to users "out of the box" and require no administrative configuration.
Insights are supported for reports in Premium and Premium Pro User Workspaces (PPU). This feature is also applicable in non-premium workspaces if a PPU licence is available.
These are just some of the new features, you can find more on the Microsoft Power BI blog and summarised in this video:
