The Emotet Trojan was - and unfortunately is again - one of the most common and dangerous threats to businesses. The all-purpose cybercrime weapon has mostly been used by criminals to target corporate espionage. Following a coordinated takedown by law enforcement in January 2021, the Emotet malware has now been rediscovered in new variants.
Emotet has spread insidiously in the past as a fake email that reaches you on behalf of colleagues and acquaintances, making it look particularly authentic. As soon as you follow the invitation of the e-mail and open file attachments or follow prepared links in the e-mail, the malware installs itself and, after infecting your system, loads further damaging software such as the banking Trojan Trickbot. The danger of losing data this way and letting criminals take control of your systems becomes real again. Reports of major production downtimes due to the rebuilding of corporate networks after an attack by Emotet are well known and administrations were also affected.
In this current threat scenario, trained employees are still particularly important. According to a study by ESI Thoughtlab, 87% of companies see untrained employees as the greatest vulnerability to cyberattacks. In cooperation with our partner G DATA, we offer you special cyber defence awareness training.
With the help of G DATA's e-learning platform, your colleagues learn how to act safely: The more than 30 learning units can be prioritised individually according to knowledge level and played out to your employees in a targeted manner. The trainings combine clear tips, videos and multiple-choice questions and are easy to integrate into daily work as 10 to 15-minute lessons.
Training is multilingual, interactive and varied, and in regular units for long-term learning. Practical exercises from everyday work are understandable without prior knowledge. In addition, the training is an ideal preparation for ISO 27001 certification. Inexpensive annual licences, graded according to company size and licence duration, allow you to make a sustainable investment in the security of your company's IT.
Do you have questions about the security gap and need more information about our training courses or short-term support? Don't hesitate, contact our experts directly now and let us check how threatened your company is.
