The start date for the technical security device (TSE) - a certified security module - was January 1, 2020, since when electronic cash registers must be protected against possible manipulation by means of a secure logging of bookings and must be equipped with a technical security device (TSE). This was already adopted on 16 December 2016 by the "Law on Protection against Manipulation of Basic Digital Records". The deadline set by the tax authorities at federal-state level for the non-objection regulation has now again been postponed to 31.03.2021 for 14 federal states so far, but subject to certain conditions! Among other things, companies have to order or commission the required number of TSE from a cash register specialist or other service provider by 30 September 2020 with a verifiable binding effect. Whether the two missing federal states will follow the deadline extension cannot be determined at present, but this can be done daily according to the regular update of https://kassensichv.com/.
