TSO-DATA has been supporting the youth welfare organisation "Haus am Schlehenbusch" since 2008. And so this year it was again a matter of the heart for us to present a donation of 4,000 euros to the support association called "Leitfunke" of the Haus am Schlehenbusch.
The donation amount was increased from the 3,000 euros shown by a further 1,000 euros to a total of 4,000 euros for the support association.
"Our young people suffer particularly during the Corona crisis, as they cannot pursue their regular activities, which are especially important for them. Often, the important structure of the day is missing as a result," explains Martina Freisel, the division manager of the Förderverein. In addition, the house at Schlehenbusch was under quarantine right at the beginning of the Corona pandemic and many things were still unclear and had to be tried out. "This period was particularly hard for the young people, as they were not allowed to leave the house and also had to cope with many uncertainties," Freisel continues.
Gabriele Busche-Pukall, chairwoman of the Leitfunke support association, which has been in existence since 1992, had asked herself before her annual call to TSO-DATA: "Is it actually permissible to expect a donation in such a special situation, as prevalent in many business enterprises this year due to Corona?" But this thought did not stop her from contacting those responsible at the company - and she received the promise. Dirk Frommeyer emphasised that the donation was never in question at any time: "It was clear to us that we wanted to support the important work at Haus am Schlehenbusch again this year, especially since our company is fortunately not economically affected by the Corona crisis."
The money from the donation will be used to renovate the common room. "The young people will work together to renovate their leisure room, which is getting on in years: We need wall paint, a new sofa, maybe a music system - all this will be planned and implemented together with the young people," Martina Freisel explains.
Gabriele Busche-Pukall concludes: "This is very good and sustainable work for the young people, which is why we as a booster club are very happy to support it!
Leitfunke Support Association
Leitfunke is the support association of the Haus am Schlehenbusch. It was founded in 1992 with the aim of supporting the development processes of young people. The main focus is on additional offers that cannot be covered by public subsidies. These include materials for leisure activities or individual case-related assistance, such as football jerseys, mountain bikes, books, learning materials, games or individual donations. The chairperson of the support association is Gabriele Busche-Pukall.
Haus am Schlehenbusch
The "Haus am Schlehenbusch" is a curative-educational-therapeutic facility run by the Evangelische Jugendhilfe gGmbH Osnabrück, which belongs to the Diakonie. Many adolescents and young adults at the facility are severely burdened by unfavourable developmental conditions and are therefore dependent on professional support. The staff look after more than 50 mentally impaired young people between the ages of 14 and 21. They have made it their task, on the one hand, to prevent the threatening social exclusion of the young people and, on the other hand, to work out a feasible path to an independent adult life. The concept of the house combines educational, therapeutic and educational-professional assistance.
