In the March 2022 update of Microsoft's business intelligence solution Power BI, new features and previews were made available. We would like to present a few selected ones here.
New format area
We have already presented the new format area to you here, it could be tested as a preview so far. Now Microsoft announces that this new feature will be generally available from May and will replace the old format area.
Error bars
Error bars can now be added to line charts to visualise certain uncertainties in the data.
Create reports from SharePoint document libraries faster
Microsoft had already introduced integration with SharePoint lists to automatically create a Power BI report from list data in a few clicks. Now the same feature is available in SharePoint document libraries.
Changing the default layout of the Power BI home page
Recently, a simplified layout for Power BI Home was introduced to make it easier to find relevant content. The new layout displays a recommended widget at the top of the page and a list of multiple pivots below it. Power BI displays personalised content recommendations in the widget, as well as frequently used and favourite content for which the user has access permissions.
In March 2022, Microsoft will then switch all users of the Power BI service to the new simplified layout by default.
These features in detail and further information on the March update can be found in the Microsoft Power BI Blog and here in the video:
